1,200 Leaders expected at World Economic Forum on the Middle East

Over 1,200 business, political and civil society leaders from 79 countries participated in the World Economic Forum on the Middle East 2009 in Jordan from 15 to 17 May.

The discussions focussed on the theme “Implications of the Global Economic Crisis for the Middle East: Home-grown Strategies for Success”.

 The meeting’s programme is based on three pillars:

1. Overcoming Crisis, Restoring Growth
2. The New Science and Research Agenda
3. The Shifting Geopolitical Landscape; Towards Soft Power Approaches

His Majesty Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin, King of Malaysia; Buti Al Jumairi, Board Member, Deyaar; and Markus Giebel, Chief Executive Officer (2008), Deyaar, in Terengganu, Malaysia.

His Majesty met senior executives from Deyaar , including Chief Executive Officer Markus Giebel at that time, at the company's hospitality tent in Terengganu, Malaysia, on the sidelines of the 160-kilometre equestrian event. Deyaar served as title sponsor of the FEI World Endurance Championship.
